The transport system to, from & within North Wales has improved greatly over the past
fifteen years or so - Routes now take you easily into the very heart of the
country while still preserving the minor road network for the more adventurous traveller.
Below are various routes to Cerrig Cornel, Morfa Bychan ... Please scroll on down the page for more
information regarding known problem spots on your chosen route.

Directions
From Cheshire
The easiest route to take would be the A55 which you can join just outside Chester.
Follow directions for North Wales initially, then head for Bangor. Once you have reach Bangor
head for Caernarfon following directions for Porthmadog thereafter. Once you arrive in Porthmadog
follow signs for Morfa Bychan - The turning for Morfa Bychan is at the crossroads in the middle
of the town - you will turn towards Woolworths which is on your right. Keep going until you reach
Morfa Bychan then drive until you see the 'Spar' shop on your left - Cerrig Cornel is 3
houses down from the shop (it is set back off the road)
From Shropshire
Your best bet is to pick up the A5 ring road at Shrewsbury (if you happen to be in that area)
following signs for North Wales/Oswestry Keep going on this road until you reach the the first
turning for Oswestry (at the mile end services) Turn right at the roundabout heading for
Llangollen - keep heading in that direction passing through Llangollen & Corwen. When you are through Corwen
follow the road passing through the traffic lights keep on going. You will eventually need to take a left
turn at the next set of lights - heading for Bala. Once you reach Bala take the turning for Porthmadog.
When you reach Porthmadog you will turn left at the crossroads in the center of town
(you will see woolworths on the corner of this turning) to Morfa Bychan. Keep going until you reach
Morfa Bychan then drive until you see the 'Spar' shop on your left - Cerrig Cornel is 3
houses down from the shop (it is set back off the road)

Known Black Spots
The worst places seem to always be on the A55 -
A55 - Penmaenmawr is always sticky at busy times and is best avoided
at peak times and bank holidays.
A55 - Queensferry area can become rather congested at peak times.
